I am grateful that global warming has kept this July at one of the coolest of record for decades. The air conditioner has been kicking in late in the day. By mid morning we pull the shades along the south and west sides.
But more importantly we have the thermostat set at 78 degrees. It's not cool in here but with fans running, we sleep quite well. There is no need to set the air lower. It's there for comfort.
Still we know our electric bill will be higher than June's. We hope it's lower than last July's.
We all need to find ways to conserve power because power = cost. If the Senate passes the Cap and Trade bill, it will cost us all much more. This is especially true for the electric companies that burn coal. Join me in contacting both of your senators now.
