Our little Kate is only one. Her parents (Marney and Jeff) are likely saving for her college needs. Such a long way off and yet the key to any savings goal is to get started and keep on track.

This is a link to a wonderful site. There are 529 plans and prepaid tuition plans from coast to coast. I would suggest that with education, there's little need for a professional to sell you a plan or investment.
The website covers all states and is very informative; however, there is an author that I have found also helpful.
Joseph Hurley wrote "The Best Way to Save for College - Complete Guide to 529 Plans" in 2008. He has also authored "Family Guide to College Savings" which is dated 2009-2010.
Bob and I would like to gift toward Kate's education but for now we are saving our coins in a fun bank that she gave us for Christmas.
