Addicted to Shiny

This is not an original thought. I heard Dave Ramsey on the radio yesterday and loved the analogy.

America is like a bass. There are times when bass (the fish, not the instrument) will bite on anything shiny. Many artificial lures are metal and constructed to swivel or turn in the water reflecting the sun.

America is like a hungry bass. If it's shiny, we'll bite.

We want shiny cars. Shiny new houses. Shiny electronics. Shiny boats.

We can't get enough shiny things. We will use our credit cards without thinking just to get more shiny things.

America has to stop biting on shiny things. We need to stop before we buy.

No more shiny things.

'til later
