You have probably heard of the tax credit for first time home buyers. It is the reason house sales were so greatly increased last month. The plan is set to expire in November.
So far, the IRS has uncovered $139,000,000 in fraudulent tax credit claims.
Over 500 claims were filed by individuals under 18 years of age.
The youngest uncovered so far is 4 years old!
Beyond that, there have been over 50 IRS employees who have claimed this tax credit fraudulently.
How many more will be filing for this tax claim with their 2009 returns? How many more tax frauds will be revealed?
And, the bigger question, will they be persecuted or will they invoke the Charley Rangle clause.
